An Introduction to VPN

Practically speaking, using a VPN enables the user to change his primary IP address into a dummy one, which is mostly done to dodge internet settings to avail certain privileges, that one can’t otherwise avail using his primary IP address. VPN came into the picture as the internet became popular with time.

For example, some sites like Netflix are country-specific and they can’t be accessed from anyone who lives outside the US. Interestingly, the computer uses IP addresses to determine the location of a user and VPN enables the user to change his IP as per his requirements. So, if you would like to access Netflix from Russia or any other country outside the US, you simply have to access the site using a VPN that has an IP from the US. This will make your IP from the US and you will be able to access the site.

In the same way, if your office management has banned access to social networks like Facebook or Twitter from your office IP, then you can simply doge the IP settings by accessing the internet using a VPN and easily browse any site on the net. For more information, contact a Computer Consultant or browse on the internet.

VPN also makes internet browsing safe. The Internet is becoming more and more unsafe to use. You never know who is trying to hack your computer while you are online. There is not much you can do if it sometimes tries to crack into your system. The Internet has made remote hacking possible and the hacker does not even need to belong to your country to get into your system. By simply determining your IP address, a capable hacker can not only steal important data from your computer, but he can also do things that you can’t even imagine.
